2: Firearm Violence as Public Health Issue
Discusses the declaration of firearm violence as a public health emergency, questioning the motives behind this move and its implications for personal freedoms. Glenn Beck: "Firearm violence. Hold alive.
It's a new day. I turn around.
Welcome to the fusion of entertainment, entertainment and enlightenment.
This is the Glenn Beck program.
Well, hello, America. Welcome to the Glenn Beck program. We have a lot to talk about. We're going to start with the surgeon general issuing a new warning about the public health. It is time we look at not only climate change, but also we look at gun control as public health.
Public health. When the government says it's a public health concern, what they mean is it's a, a lack of control of the public.
And they're going to institute some things that will control the public. That's what public health means when it's coming from these people. We'll talk about that coming up in just a second. 1st Bill wrote in with an interesting story about his experience with relief factory. He says for quite a while now, Bill used a walker or a cane. He said he used it everywhere he went because he had such pain in his knees he could barely walk. The good news is, call it good news. He had a knee replacement surgery all scheduled and he was ready to go in. But then one day, after almost three weeks of trying something called relief factor, Bill walked into the surgeon's office without a walker, without a cane. By the end of the consultation, the surgeon agreed. Okay, we're going to cancel the operation. I'll be here if you need me. Call me if you need me. So far, he hasn't needed the surgeon. Bill got his life back with relief factor. If you're living with aches and pain, see how relief factor, a daily drug free supplement, might help you feel and live better. Join the over a million people who've turned to relief factor, just like Bill.
I want you to do me a favor and go to relieffactor.com. relieffactor.com.
800 for relief, 1800 for relief. You'll save on your first order. 804 relief. Relieffactor.com.
all right, we're going to talk about the coming debate, which happens tomorrow. I'm going to give my quick little dissertation on what I think Donald Trump should do to win tomorrow night and to change the game even more than he already has. That's coming up in about an hour. We're going to talk about the WikiLeaks deal. We have a theory.
We have a theory.
Let's see if it plays through. We have our staff looking into things. They've been looking into it yesterday and all day and all night, and now they're just trying to button up a few things.
So far, I can only present it as a theory. Maybe in an hour we'll be able to show you some facts on that, but we'll get that to you here in just a minute. Also, we're going to talk about the elections that happened yesterday.
And let's start with the surgeon general.
Surgeon general has come out and declared climate change a public health emergency.
He has also claimed that racism is a public health emergency. Now, when you have a public health emergency, you know, that is Covid the government can claim all kinds of powers if it's a public health emergency.
They're using this language very, very carefully.
Now, here's what he said yesterday. Cut for surgeon General announces firearm violence being a public health emergency.
Today, for the first time in the history of our office, I am issuing a surgeon general's advisory on firearm violence. It outlines the urgent threat firearm violence poses to the health and well being of our country.
As a doctor, I've seen the consequences of firearm violence up close in the lives of the patients I've cared for over the years. These are moms and dads, sons and daughters, all of whom were robbed of their physical and mental health by senseless acts of violence.
Unfortunately, the problem has continued to grow. The surgeon general's advisory lays out the approach we can take to address firearm violence as the public health crisis that it is.
This includes implementing community violence prevention programs and firearm risk reduction strategies, improving access to mental health care for those exposed to or at risk for firearm violence and expanding research funding to inform and evaluate our prevention strategies.
Hang on just a second. Firearm violence. Hold on. Did he just say that it would expand mental health access for those who have created gun violence or who had participated in it or had access to guns?
It's interesting.
Anyway, so there's Doctor Murphy coming on and he says, I just want people to walk, you know, through their neighborhoods and feel safe. Yeah, so do I. So do I.
What's changed? Let's change. Why has it gotten so dangerous to walk through our neighborhoods? There's some other things that are going on that I would call a crisis. But he doesn't want to talk, talk about that.
He wants to talk about the evil gun and those who want guns, and it's a public health crisis. Now let me give you another story before I get into the main point here. Delaware. The state legislators yesterday sent doctor assisted suicide bill to the governor to sign.
This would be the 11th state to approve doctor assisted suicide.
Okay, let's look at those eleven states. What eleven states has doctor assisted suicide?
California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, New Mexico, Maine, New Jersey, Hawaii, Washington, and Washington, DC.
Still, I'm noticing a pattern here and I don't know exactly what it is. What do those eleven states have in common?
B
Great vacation locations?
A
Nope. No, no, no. I wouldn't put New Jersey in the same category as Hawaii.
B
Really?
A
Yeah. Yeah.
They're all the most progressive states we have in the union. Okay, so they're the same ones that are fighting for the death of babies.
They are the same ones that are now going to the opposite end and saying, also the death of old people or anybody sick that wants to die? Okay. All right.
Now let me tie these two stories together.
May I?
Have you ever heard anyone tell the american people that this is science and those that don't understand it are going to be swept aside in the, in history as those being on the wrong side of history.
Have you heard anyone saying, well, to, you know, kids, you know, you understand things that your parents don't understand because, well, they don't get it. It's a new generation, right?
Have you ever heard anyone saying, if you don't, if you don't join us, you're against us? Right?
Okay, let me read a, let me read something to the doctors in medical profession from Doctor Wagner.
Colleagues, sweep aside all those who do not wish to understand the sign of the times.
Over the course of these weeks, it has been with emotion and gratitude that we have observed the german national awareness of itself and the value of its blood. In every hamlet, every walk of life, in all the professions, we are witnessing the awakening of the people and rejection of mistakes coming from liberal and formal and foreign elements. When they say liberal, by the way, they mean classical liberalism. They mean that you as an individual matter, not the kind of liberalism that's now being preached.
Liberalism, meaning you have a. An inherent right to choose for yourself.
Let's see. He says a few professions participate in the grandeur and the future of this nation as much as the medical profession does. And none is so rife with the Jews nor hopelessly invaded by foreign thinking. Now, you could say, well, I mean, in today's world, you're almost there saying, the Jews here in America. But you could also say, instead of foreign thinking, maga people who believe in the constitution, that believe that we are republic, the PhDs that are jewish hold the leading chairs of medicine in universities. They are sterilizing the medical art and impregnating generations of young doctors with a mechanist way of thinking.
Okay, they've already taken care of this in the universities.
And anybody who is a conservative is, is talked about like that. They just. They don't get it. They're living in the past. They hate people. They hate children. They are a threat to our democracy. Right?
Jewish colleagues sit at the places of honor in doctor societies and associations. Now, again, this one they've already taken care of. Here in America, there's no one who is a conservative that has been honored and is sitting in high places in any of these organizations. They're making a trumpery of the honor of the medical profession as they are systematically annihilating our code of ethics.
Do we have two ethics, two set of ethics in this country?
I think we do.
I think we have the progressive code of ethics and then the traditional american code of ethics.
Let's see.
We are indebted to them for ever growing mercantilism, meaning capitalism unworthy of our profession. So capitalism shouldn't play any role. Because of it, we shall be impoverished. Our credit with the people will collapse. So because of capitalism, the people will be impoverished.
You can't have that. You need a socialized system.
Have we heard that from anyone?
German doctors, this we know.
Those responsible for the situation are foreigners. They alone have led us this way. They have been opposed to any german thinking in our organizations. So could that be said by people who are maga or people who are constitutionalist or people who are classical liberals? Yeah.
Yeah. We've been opposed to any of this new think in all organizations. But we have welcomed every marxist proposal and. But they have welcomed every marxist proposal and every jewish member or measure that came along. We have not.
We have not. They have.
That the medical profession should constitute a judeo masonic enclave at the heart of Germany cannot be allowed to happen.
Honor and sense the duty that obliges us to put an end to this scandal. It is for this reason we are appealing to the entire german medical profession. Clean up the administration of our organization. Sweep aside all those who do not wish to understand the new way of thinking.
Does that sound familiar?
For we wish to work together towards the reestablishment of a new medical profession for the welfare of the people and the honor of the german doctor.
Okay? So they.
The medical associations listened to this, and then they began to.
They again begin to socialize the medicine.
And that's when they get into euthanasia.
And it's a public welfare project. That's what this is. It is for the good of the german people and those who are suffering, okay?
They're just unproductive people and they're suffering, and we should help them meet the Lord.
Now they go on.
They start liquidating people.
People become suspicious. What does the government do? The government comes out and says, we're not doing any of that. That's not true.
Does that sound familiar?
How many times have we heard, we're not doing that? That's not true. That's a conspiracy theory.
And even Hitler himself comes out and says, this is an affront to the german ethics. We are not killing children in behind the scenes. That's exactly what they're doing.
Then they start a new campaign, and they start to go after the universities and culture, and they start producing movies and films that are showing how insensitive it is for you to judge people that want to die.
And there was a. There was a new movie that was released by Goebbels from propaganda called I accuse.
And this was about a doctor whose wife was dying, and he gave her, you know, life ending medicine out of compassion. And he was prosecuted for it. Persecuted is the way it is made to believe in the movie. And he says, you accuse me of this?
I accuse you of having no heart.
Euthanasia becomes popular, and there's new passports for death.
And then they develop public private partnerships for death. For instance, the charitable organizations that would take old people and children out of the hospitals and kill them. It was the community labor service. It was the nonprofit association for financial questions. It was the patients transportation corporation that did all of these things, not the government. Oh, surely not the government.
They created a system where the scariest were not the black coated SS officers. The scariest were the ones wearing the white coats.
It was the doctors and nurses that first laid all of the foundations for what the Nazis are best known for.
I warn you, you cannot make medicine political.
You cannot take political matters and bring them in to the system of medicine.
But that's exactly what we're doing. And may I ask, do you think you or your family can afford in every way that that is meant or conjures, can you and your family afford another four years of this?
All right, let me tell you about our sponsor. This f hour. It is pre born. Since the overturning of roe versus wade a couple of years ago, we've passed the 65 million mark on abortions and thousands more babies are killed every day. It's a staggering number.
God only knows what those children would have gone on to do with their lives if they had gotten to live them. Preborn is the largest pro life organization in the country. Pro life, I believe, as I just shared with you, is possibly the most important thing you can stand for right now. You take this block away and everything else collapses.
Every day. Preborn sponsors free ultrasounds for women as well as providing help for up to two years after the baby is born. When a mom sees her unborn child on that monitor, she hears that heartbeat. She's twice as likely to consider choosing life for her baby. I know because I was one of them that actually was in this situation. A 14 year old girl in Texas was, was pregnant. She didn't know what to do.
She actually decided to save the baby, but she couldn't keep it. We now have Rafe, our son. We were there in the delivery room because of that brave, brave mother.
There are other options.
Please, if you can make a donation of $28 that will buy an ultrasound. The government is working, is not working on saving babies. And a donation of 1000, 2000, 20,000. All gifts are tax deductible and will reach eternity. Get involved today. Donate. Take a stand. Dial pound 250. Say the key word baby. That's pound 250. Keyword baby. Or visit preborn.com Beck sponsored by Preborn 10 seconds station id so election season is here. However, this time around, things are a little bit different. The first presidential debate is happening before either of the candidates have been officially nominated at their conventions.

Glenn Beck, you know, I don't know about other radio shows. I don't listen to, you know, other radio shows at all. I just don't have time. I'm just trying to read all the time.
But we are doing a lot of things right now with nonprofit groups, and we're doing them because I don't want to sell you products unless they really, really help. But also, I think that there are things that we need to stand for that will bring favor in the eyes of God. Abortion is one of them. The other one is standing up for the Jews. Making your choice right now on who you will be. Will you cower when they come for the Jews or the Christians, or will you stand up right now before it gets that bad?
Make a stand today with the international fellowship of Christians and Jews. This is an opportunity for us to be able to let the people in Israel, we stand with them now. That doesn't mean we're with them in war or anything else. It means we're not going to let them be rounded up again. Sign the pledge. Support ifcj.org dot. It's going to be shared with the jewish people at the end of the month. Support ifcj.org dot welcome to the Glenn Beck program. We're glad you're here. We say hello and welcome to Mister Pat Gray. Hello. Hello, Pat. What is, what's on your mind today?
Well, the Trump VP candidate is one of the things that's on my mind.
Supposedly. He's already.
Then he's narrowing you to get a lecture. I'll get a lecture. You get a lecture from Stu. From Stu. Really?
This is fake. It's all fake.
B
It's all fake. And Donald Trump will tell you who he's picked when he wants to tell.
A
You who he's, oh, I want to guess on it today.
B
It's reportedly coming today. It might be at the convention, might be after the election. I don't know. Maybe it's going to be. Last week he told us, every day there's a new freaking report. Then it's like, it's down to four because it's not.
A
It's down to nine.
B
Right? Yes.
A
Right.
B
Why are, why are we falling for this? Donald Trump controls this information. He will let you know when he's ready. That is, that's the entire, no, we're not.
A
Hang on just a second. Hang on. This is like being angry at the end of the apprentice.
I mean, why are we watching this? He's already made his decision. We already know who he's gonna pick. Right.
B
Right.
A
Why do they keep the music going? This is good. This is what Donald Trump does really well. He keeps people engaged. I don't think this is a problem. It's a problem for us. It's a problem looking at the news and going, because we all want to know. Probably true.
B
Yeah. It's problem for the media. And I believe, my belief is this is just him screwing with the media constantly. He's different people in his administration leaking different things. They all back up each other's sources. Yeah, no, I did hear him say that. And they're just telling the media just to screw with them over and over and over again. And then every day we should know better. Like, we should know better to actually listen to it, even though it's fun to speculate on.
A
He also speculates as trial balloons. He also likes to see, you've ever seen him speak? If I've watched him from behind the stage. So I've seen him and, and I just, he is so brilliant.
I watch him and he'll throw things out and he'll gauge the reaction, and I'll look at him watching the audience and people think that he's, you know, just standing there, like Caesar. Yes.
My minions. He's measuring their response.
That's. That's what Donald Trump does and entertains. So I think it's a combination of those two.
So who do you think it's going to be?
B
He's already made a decision.
Did you know that? He made his decision. The next day it was down to three, and then today it's down to four.
A
And then the rumor was yesterday that it's Vivek Ravaswamy again. Right.
B
Who he's already publicly pulled out. No, he's already said it's not him.
A
Right.
B
But now it might be him, do we not? It's so insane.
A
I know.
I just hope it is somebody that could be the president of the United States next election. Yeah, for sure. I just hope he is. You know, and we talked about this yesterday. JD Vance would be a really good torch bearer to make Donald Trump's legacy not just the two terms, but the be able to make it more than the man. So reaganism became a movement where Donald Trump is a movement.
However, nobody's really been able to do it except for Donald Trump. And it would be nice to have somebody as the VPN who can make this a movement. So Donald Trump is known for more than just being a two term president. That was very good.
He'll be known as a movement.
B
That's a really interesting point you bring up there, because reaganism was a movement because of its overwhelming success. It was so good.
And it had a really, really strong intellectual backbone.
A
Right?
B
There was think tanks and magazines and all the intellectuals who had the support beneath that. That's not exactly the profile of Trumpism. Right. And I think one of the ways.
A
Speaker one now, right now, that's what.
B
I'm saying, though, right?
The weakness and maybe something that hurt reaganism as a long term movement was his vp was not a reaganite. So when after the two massive, successful terms, his VP takes over and like, yeah, we might just raise taxes now and undid a lot of the things because he wasn't a believer in that philosophy. I don't know, I think there's a lesson there for Trump. Like, I would want someone who believes intellectually and can carry that torch this next election.
A
Yes. And I think we have a chance of winning twelve years.
I mean, you know, republicans always screw it up. But if Donald Trump picks the right person to be at his side and passes the torch to that person at the end of his term, and that person believes in the things like small government, et cetera, et cetera, we could win twelve years and that would change everything. Remember the reason why we set this course back in the 1930s? Wilson started it, but then they had twelve solid years of FDR, and it was those twelve years that locked everything down. That's why it should be Ron DeSantis. It's not going to be, but should be him. Set him up for 2020. I agree. Would've been great.
B
Now he says he doesn't want it.
A
Right?
B
Like, that's.
A
I mean, why would you not, though, seriously, how could you not draft him? Because you're the guy for sure in 28.
B
It's the same reason you don't want the job as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. It's like you go to the Lakers and you win. It's LeBron's accomplishment, not yours. If you go there and you lose, it's your fault. And it's the same thing here. Like, it's. This is Trump's thing. And I think DeSantis sees himself, while aligned with Trump and on a lot of things, as a different person, different movement. Like, he's his own guy and he thinks he's got a big future and why would I go in there? This is gonna be Trump's thing, not mine.
A
He ran this year, though, so certainly he's gonna run in 28. You'd think if you're vice president and he's. That sets you up.
B
Well, Cruz didn't run, though.
Like, Cruz didn't come back. A lot of those guys from 2016 didn't come back. I mean, he will.
A
He probably, he will. And I think that he needs the credibility of being outside of the republican establishment. You know, I think this race hurt him on that. I think he, you know, had a little bit of the Nikki Haley kind of feel, not him personally, but the, the feeling that I heard from so many people is he surrounding himself by so many really bad people. They're all the go peers. He's going to change. He's going to change. He needs to cement that he's not going to change. He is not part of the old GOP. And if Donald Trump does his job, he will have destroyed the old GOP, destroyed it. And I don't think there could be anything better than destroying those old dinosaurs that think we're living in 1951 does. We're not. I don't know if you know that.
B
What would be the decisions you'd make if you're Trump to make this decision? Obviously you want someone who could be president if they needed to be. And as we just talked about. You'd want maybe a person who's going to be available to win in 2028.
But what else? What other decisions will you make? One thing I think is interesting about Vance, and let me throw this out at you, they talk about the vice president all the time of, like, hitting a certain constituency, right? And everyone's like, well, Vance doesn't do that. Like, he's not, doesn't have Marco Rubio, maybe hispanic vote or, you know, all these little calculations.
A
You don't need it, and I don't.
B
Think you need it. First of all, I think at the end of the day, Trump should make this based on his, on his legacy and what he wants later, because honestly, probably not going to make a difference as to whether he wins or loses. But one quick thing on Vance. Vance is from Ohio, which used to be the swing state, right? Like, I mean, in 2004, it was the swing state. Here. We don't think of it as a swing state anymore. It's a red state. However, the three most important states in this election connected are all right there in that region in which JD Vance wrote a book talking about all the problems of this region. He knows those voters really well, and I'm talking about Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. He knows them really, really well. He can connect with those voters probably as good as anybody and, like, maybe better. If Trump wins Georgia, if he wins Nevada, if he wins Arizona and doesn't win those three states, he still loses.
He has to pick off one of those three. And I think that's makes some sense from that perspective.
A
Speaker one. Yeah, I think JD said JD Vance makes the most sense out of all of them, although JD has told me that he hasn't talked to Trump about it at all, so. But maybe that's because, just like, Donald.
B
Trump has already made his decision and it's also has fortune.
A
I know none of that stuff makes any difference.
B
Do you agree with that? Is that a, is that a sensible, a sensible direction? I mean, like Marco Rubio, I still come back to, he's not fundamentally trumpian. Right? Like, it's not who he is. And also, Donald Trump would have to move. And I just don't believe Donald Trump is going to move for his vice president.
A
Really have to move, though. He just changed it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
He wouldn't actually have to physically, like, get in a movie truck and get a U Haul and unload.
A
Marlon, do you think he's gonna. You think he'd use a U haul truck?
B
Yeah, I think so.
A
I see him as more of a, more of somebody who just, you know, beacons, Mayflower beacons. He may box it all up himself, but I'm sure he would. I don't know if he drive the truck. Yeah.
B
Would be a really funny way to unveil the reality show. Like he's, I'm going to make it at Mar a Lago. And then you just pull up and there's just moving trucks out in front and he's just taking some mispossessions up to whatever house is closest by. Would be hilarious.
A
So funny. Yeah, it would be. So, Pat, who do you think?
Who should it be? Well, it should be DeSantis. It's not going to be.
B
But I, out of the reported possibilities, what do you think?
A
Kind of leaning toward Rubio.
I mean, it's, it's not really liked Rubio. We did ten years ago. We loved him ten years ago when we sat down with him. Yeah.
B
And he's been on the show recently.
He's right on a lot of things. I don't see him as a line, particularly on things like Ukraine with Trump. I mean, they're pretty far away, seems like, on that stuff.
But again, the vice president, very likely in a Trump administration, will have basically no input. Right. Like, it's Trump's administration. This is a secondary role. It's going to be chosen.
A
Well, that's why. But that's, but, but wait, that's why you get somebody who is on the same page with you.
B
Yeah.
A
I mean, he's going to be fighting so many forest fires that he has got to have a vice president that can drop in and go, mister president, I'll take that right there. What is the plan? What do you want me to accomplish? I got it. And then go do those things while he's concentrating on other things. He needs a strong vice president and the country needs a strong vice president because that vice president is going to be the one that will be running against, I don't know, maybe Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Party in four years from now. I mean, why not? She's not that old yet. She's only in her seventies.
B
She had a great op ed yesterday in the New York Times about, she's apparently the only person who's ever debated both of these guys, Trump and Biden.
And so she wrote this horrible op ed about it. Maybe we can go through it later. But I just want to get Pat on the record. Are you denying Brigham momentum?
A
Yes.
Yes.
B
Straight out denial?
A
No. Yeah, both.
I want to get you on the record. Are you saying, because this is all this is all the rage now that Hillary Clinton is going to be the nominee to step in at the very last minute.
B
No, the Democrats hate.
A
They hate.
B
First of all, it's going to be.
A
Nobody says nobody stepping in.
B
Right. No one's stepping in.
A
Okay.
B
But also, the Democrats don't even like Hillary Clinton. They can't.
A
No, I know. For losing to. I'm guessing that. I'm guessing that that came from Hillary Clinton. Yeah, I've heard that. I'm going to be the one.

Hello and welcome to the Glenn Beck program. We're glad you're here.
So I saw the new Kevin Costner movie horizon last night.
B
This is horizon american saga, chapter one.
A
Yeah. And I think there are four chapters of this. And Costner has sunk, I think, $38 million of his own money into this.
And it's long. It's 3 hours long, but worth every minute. The first ten minutes of this movie, you will say, what the hell is going on? I don't even understand. I was so confused by the first ten minutes because they're setting up the largest saga I have ever seen a movie try to do outside of Star wars, okay? Or the Lord of the Rings, you know, where they're always introducing new characters and you're like, wait, who are these people?
And the, the first ten minutes, you're, you're meeting all these different people and you don't know what. It just kind of drops into a story and it is the american story. And I, after watching this, a couple of things came to mind. Kevin Costner is possibly the only person alive today that can do the american west.
The pioneer story, the story of, you know, 1860s America with cowboys and Indians, and tell it honestly and accurately. It's the most accurate depiction of that time period I've ever seen it. It's not woke at all. In fact, it starts with an indian massacre from the Apaches, who the Apaches were really bad at the time, but also shows good Indians and good white guys and bad white guys. It's an epic, epic story.
The other thing I thought of was, move aside, Clint Eastwood. I love Clint Eastwood Western, especially the later ones.
Kevin Costner has made Clint Eastwood look like John Wayne movies.

Welcome to the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.
This is the Glenn Beck program.
Hello, America. Welcome to the Glenn Beck program. We're getting a couple of decisions. One of them is a big one that we have so far from the Supreme Court. It is the social media. Does the government, can the government instruct social media what to do?
It's a big one, and from the looks of it, as it was starting to come out, doesn't look like it's going to go well for the right.
We'll explain, go through it and also the debate tomorrow. I want to spend a few minutes on what I think Donald Trump should say in the debate, how he should play this in the debate. We'll give you all of that and so much more this hour. We begin in 60 seconds. Our sponsor this half hour is Patriot Mobile. I have a challenge for you.
If you could change your mobile plan, would you? You could get in there and fiddle around with, you know, everything.
Maybe save some money in the process.

Tomorrow and Friday are going to have, there's going to be a lot of activity at the Supreme Court and we will try to go over them the best we can because they are coming out live. One just was released about three minutes ago.
Can you tell us anything about that, Stu? Yeah.
B
This is Murphy versus Missouri. This is a court case that was, we've talked about it. It was about basically whether the government going to social media companies and trying to get them to censor what they called misinformation was a violation of the First Amendment.
And this is not going to be a good ruling. I think this is going to be pretty bad.
A
Hang on, hang on just a second. Sarah. Can you call Sarah Colk and see if she can get the Ag of Missouri on the phone to go through this with us?
B
Yeah, it'd be interesting. Yeah, that'd be great.
This is, to give you an easy basic sense, this is a six three decision. The three in dissent who opposed it were Alito, Thomas and Gorsuch. So that's not necessarily a good thing.
A
That's not good.
B
Now, it was written by Justice Amy Coney Barrett. She, it's seemingly mostly about standing where. So that's, you know, just whether they were able to bring the case at all. And that is not necessarily something that would decide this. However, reading through the actual ruling here, it does seem to have bigger ramifications than that.
Barrett writes, platforms had independent incentives to moderate content and often exercise their own judgment. To be sure, the record reflects that the government defendants played a role in at least some of the platform's moderation choices. But the fifth circuit, by attributing every platform decision, at least in part, to the defendants, glossed over complexities in the evidence. Now, there is a case years and years ago, Glenn, called Bantam Books v. Sullivan. This is in the sixties. And they ruled that, yes, informal and indirect efforts by the government to suppress speech basically can violate the First Amendment. So the precedent here should have leaned our way.
Does not look like it turned out our way here.
And we have one other one coming in. It's only going to be, it looks like two today. So I'll give you the details of this here in a second.
A
Do you know which one it is yet?
B
Hold on. If you give me about 30 seconds for you.
A
Yeah. This is an absolute gut punch.
To those of us that have to deal with social media and deal with the government, this is an absolute gut punch.
We are being so suppressed right now, and it's all because of the election. I mean, we can't get any of our documentaries. Google is just blocking us every way, YouTube blocking us in every way.
I've told you before, my Facebook page down 95% in traffic, yet I'm having the best three, four years of my career, bigger than when I was at Fox.
How is that possible that all of a sudden my Facebook just in one month, just boom, and then stays there? How's that possible? How is that possible? There's only one reason we're being suppressed and everybody. Did you hear what Instagram was doing to Tucker Carlson?
If you went and looked for Instagram and Tucker Carlson, you would find a whole bunch of other Tucker Carlson's before you would find him. That's it. Weird.
And then when you did find him and you tried to subscribe or follow him, it would pop up a box that said, are you sure you want to follow Tucker Carlson? This site has published many false facts and, you know, red herrings or whatever.
Excuse me.
I don't see that on anybody else's page from the left. No one. Keith Oliverin.
I mean, I'm just trying to think of the worst of the worst.
Joy Reid.
Nope, that doesn't show up on Joy Reid.
This is all happening and it's happening all over the globe. This is why Elon Musk was in so much trouble in Brazil recently, because he was standing up against and saying, no, you, you cannot tell me what to do and what not to do.
So this is, this is bad for people who believe in freedom of speech and believe in the government not being able to coerce people into silencing others on their platform. I got to tell you, if the United States government called me and said, hey, you need to, you need to silence whomever, whomever on our site, I would be stunned. I mean, if Donald Trump did that, I would say, no. I've actually had a Republican at one point kind of try to do that with me. And, and I said, this is when I was running the blaze and they called me and I said, uh, no, well, look, we're friends. Everything else is. And I said, absolutely not. I don't tell people what to do, what to say. That's their opinion. If they've said something that is inaccurate, please let me know. I will pass it on to them and ask them to make sure that they correct any error. But that's it. That's it.
This is a whole different ballgame in a whole different world.
All right, stu, do you have, do you have a. Yes.
B
It's not Snyder versus us. This is not, you know, one that was highly talked about in the media. I would say it is a six three decision on conservative liberal lines. Again, I use air quotes for that when I consider John Robertson, the conservative majority.
However, Jackson, Sotomayor, and Kagan are the three dissenting here. It's about bribery case, basically. Like, like we all know you're not allowed to bribe someone for a policy in the future. The question was, can you essentially say thank you for a policy with a gift?
A
Oh, my gosh.
B
And no.
A
Well, no.
B
And that's almost, that's true almost everywhere. The question, though, was whether the federal government was the one to decide that. And the court ruled this is up to state and local legislators to decide.
A
That's good. That is really good. I mean, obviously, that is really good.
B
I mean, no one is, I think, I don't think it's a good idea to encourage such behavior. But obviously, there are some exceptions, I suppose, to that. But the question is, who's going to be thinking about and designating the punishments for these things? And it should not be overwhelmed by the federal government. It should go to the local officials.
A
All right, back in just a second, and we'll talk about the debate. Let me tell you about my pillow.
To keep a good company down, especially one that puts out really good products consistently the way my pillow does. I, I wear their slippers almost all the time now. It all of the experts. Now everyone is saying the new target for inflation appears to be 3% rather than previous 2% inflation. So why are they, why are they fine with prices going up 3% every year, food, gas, energy already becoming scarce due to the rest of us getting priced out? So why is the green agenda making everything more scarce?
And in the middle of all of this, neither party ever attempts to fix our border and immigration. Oh, they talk about it, but they never actually do it. Well, there's an answer for all of these things.
Why the chinese farmers? Do you know how much, how many businesses and land have been sold in the last few years alone to foreign entities?
It is mind blowing. I'm going to show you some graphs tonight.
One of them is about the average household wealth, and it is disappearing. And the government and the top 1% elites are sucking it up like a giant vacuum. It's a theft of the nation.
And the middle class is now on life support. And we're being pushed into a two class system, elites and government. And then the rest of the serfs.
Don't miss the Wednesday night special at 09:00 p.m. eastern blaze tv on my Thursday night program. And Wednesday night program Thursday will be on the YouTube channel. If you can see it, american elites have built a caste system for you. That's tonight. Now let me just, let me be so bold to address how I think President Trump should handle the debates with Joe Biden.
Let me play cut six here. This is Joe Biden's campaign spokesperson talking about his accomplishments. Here we go. Look, I think you've got to first.
B
Of all, take a step back and.
A
Look at what President Biden has done for the economy. He's created over 50 million jobs. GDP has been at a record high. Unemployment's been low, especially among black Americans and Hispanic Americans. So you will see President Biden talking about his accomplishments.
Now, Donald Trump could come in and debate with Joe Biden.
I wouldn't, I wouldn't, I wouldn't debate with Joe Biden. I wouldn't debate with Joe, with Jake Tapper. I would just say, look, what was your question, Jake? It was about Ukraine and what we're going to do in Ukraine. Ok?
I'm not going to debate a guy on foreign policy. He's responsible for the disaster of Afghanistan, for the Taliban being back, for the Russia Ukraine war, for the Middle east, the Russia Ukraine. And now the Middle east has brought our gas prices, our food prices and inflation to record highs.
So I'm not going to, I'm not going to even talk about what he's doing. I'm just telling you right now, the american people cannot take it anymore. The american people cannot afford these kinds of decisions. Coming again.
Well, what do you talk about? You know, he's created x number of jobs. No, he hasn't. And have the facts. The New York Times even says the, the Los Angeles Times just reported and you can find them. There's been no job growth in California the last year of all of the reported job growth in California was bogus.
If you look at our job growth right now, you know who is getting jobs? Illegals.
You know who's not.
There has not been any job growth since this man got into office with Americans other than part time jobs. More and more people have to take part time work, work, two, three, even four jobs just to support the family.
They can't afford rent. Why?
Why did all of this happen? Because of his policies. So don't ask me to debate him on any of these things. He's so wrong. It's not worth anyone's time. Here's what I promise the american people.
Your inflation is going to take a while to turn around. But I agree it exists.
This man told you it didn't exist.
It exists and it's dire and we're losing the dollar because of his relationship with the Saudis and all of the problems that we have had here, we're going to lose the dollar. I will tell you that I, and I've done it before.
I have created jobs. I have helped. And you know the best way the president can create jobs?
Get out of the way.
This president creates jobs that are all in the United States government.
I'd like to make the unemployment rate in the United States government high.
I would like to make the employment rate for citizens of this country very low.
What's that mean? It means the government's not going to be spending all the money creating new jobs in the government.
We're going to cut that.
I would, I would, I would. This guy is a real estate mogul. I would say right now you can't afford housing.
Well, I will tell you, there's a place where you're going to be able to buy housing dirt cheap, and that is in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Because I'm going to cut this government size so dramatically that houses will be up for sale like never before.
It will be a mass evacuation of Washington, DC, only rivaled by the mass evacuation of California that these policies from the left have caused.
I would just talk about gas prices, food prices, jobs, no matter what the, what the question is, these are the actual facts.
You know, were you better off when I was in charge of the economy?
Let's take Covid out of it on both sides.
Were you better off now or before, COVID were you working? Did you have hope?
The government is creating these jobs by spending the money that they take from you, and that's not creating any new wealth. The way to create jobs for the government, the president to do it is free the people to work the way they want to work. Reduce all of the, all of these ridiculous climate changing, global warming, all these special favors to unions. Let people work and create.
Let them. Let them choose the path and design their own life. It's their life, not the life of the government of the United States of America. Let them.
Free them to make their own decisions. Free them. I have so much belief in the american people that they can dig out of any hole. Do we need to talk about the greatest generation?
Dig them out of every hole.
The government didn't do that. The people did. The people did. Well, we're in trouble again.
And the world is being divvied up between marxist and globalists and those who want power for themselves.
I think I've taken it on the chin here long enough and I'm only getting hammered the way I am because I am the biggest obstacle standing in the globalists way. I don't believe that any of this stuff is good for America. And I'm sorry, you know, I keep hearing America first is so, you know, nazi or whatever. It's not.
I love my country. I believe my country is the greatest beacon of freedom.
How do I know that?
Where do all the people around the world have always wanted to go to America. They recognize the freedom here that we are now on the edge of losing so they can talk a good game.
I'm going to actually do these things. Anybody who didn't vote for me last time because you didn't think that I would do the things I said I was going to do, I did them. I did them. Was your border more secure? Was our world more secure? Were your classrooms more sane for your children? And could you afford groceries?
Glenn Beck?
That's what I think he needs to say in tomorrow night's debate over and over and over again. Keep bringing it to where people live.
All right, rough greens. So maybe you're one of the ambitious people who actually make your own dog food at home. Congratulations. Yeah, I tried doing that for a while. No, nope. Too much work.
Kibble food just doesn't cut it because all the good stuff is cooked out in the manufacturing process.
And there's got to be some way to get your dog all the nutrition he needs where you can afford it. I mean, I like to make my dog food myself. I feed him chicken and it's raw chicken because dogs have an enzyme that they can just handle raw. Who can afford chicken for the family?
I need something that I can afford that will actually feed my dog in a good way. Well, you can buy whatever you want for kibble food and then put rough greens on top. It has all of the vitamins, minerals, probiotics that your dog needs to stay healthy and even get healthy, even if you think they're already. Roughgreens.com beck ruffgreens.com Becky or eight? I don't think there is another moment like this in my lifetime, like what comes tomorrow with Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
This, if Donald Trump plays his cards right, he is going to clean the floor with Joe Biden and not because Joe Biden is mentally incapable. I don't believe that is, I don't believe that we should be hanging our hat on that because they've always, they juice him up before these things. They always do. He's not the same person he is on the campaign trail giving speeches, whatever.
He will be sharp tomorrow. I believe Donald Trump just needs to not fall into the trap they need him, him to fall into.
He, he has got to remember that Jake Tapper and Joe Biden, whether they actually are colluding or not, I highly doubt, but CNN has done it before.
It doesn't matter what they say.
This is a chance to look at all Americans, not just MAGA supporters, not people who just voted for him the first time, time, all Americans. The case that he has tomorrow that I have not seen before, the clearest cut, even more than Reagan with Jimmy Carter.
Reagan. And remember, that was fairly close.
Reagan did not have the proof that he could do it as President Donald Trump does. And it was four years ago. People remember that. They remember that as being able to afford their groceries. You know, life was, you know, Joe Biden campaigned on a return to normalcy.
Well, really, is this normal? Is any of the stuff that you've seen normal?
You not being able to afford your house or an apartment? 61% of Americans cannot afford the rent for an apartment. 61%.
Is that the normal you were looking for?
Because I don't believe it was you going in and not being able to afford groceries for your children or gas to get them to school.
Is that the normalcy that you were looking for?
This is all Donald Trump has to do. And Donald and Joe Biden's gonna try to make it about him. And I think Donald Trump needs to fight his natural instinct of defending himself, making it about him. This is, this is, this election really is. All the interference is about him.
But his most effective way of dealing that with that is, is what he's always said over and over again. I am only a target because I'm standing in the way where they want to get to you.
I'm standing in their way to control you.
That's why I'm a target. And I'm happy to be that target for you. But I just want you to really understand the economy, and I want to talk to people who didn't vote for me before. You may not like me, that's fine. I do some things and I say some things that are crazy from times to time. You know, I'm an entertainer. I came from television, okay? But I'm also a businessman.
And I want to recognize that as a businessman, no business can be done when no one has any money to buy anything.
So even the businessmen who aren't getting payoffs or in public private partnerships with this government. They all recognize that there's trouble because you can't afford to buy any of the products that you might want to buy, and you're being forced to buy products that you don't want to buy.
Did anybody notice that? What was it? I don't want to say the airline, because I don't remember which one it was. Exactly. Exactly. But one of the airlines now charging a new green fuel tax, they now have raised the prices of their flights because of green energy and green fuel that they're having to buy for their airplanes.
Okay. I love the planet and clean water as much as you do, but we have to prioritize and food and the well being.
Our people.
He's bailing out people for.
For student loans. They agreed to take on. They want. They sought them out. Nobody forced you. It's not like a medical condition where you're like, I've got to get a college degree or I'll die.
No, they agreed.
And while they have been busy bailing them out. Nobody's bailing you out.
Nobody's bailing out the average person, Republican or Democrat. You're working, you know, for GM. They're not bailing you out. They'll bail GM out, but they'll bail Gm out because they're forcing you to make green cars, green energy cars and electric cars that have no future.
And you know this. If you're working on the assembly line, you know, it's so. I want to talk to people who voted against me the first time or, you know, voted against me the second time. I just want to have you look at the bottom line here.
Do you fear our government is going into war, that we are going to be in a global war?
I have shown you my credentials. I brought peace to the Middle East.
I brought an end to wars.
Have the wars gotten better or worse since I left?
And ask yourself that question for everything, and then ask, why have they spent so much time and money to destroy me?
Because I stand for the exact opposite of what they stand for.
I stand for you, the average American, the Democrats and the Republicans, they say it's wrong for us to say America first. Well, men, women and children first into the lifeboats, and then get the lifeboats away from the masses that are struggling to keep their heads above water because they will overturn all of the lifeboats and everyone will be dead. America is a lifeboat.
The. The people that ran the white star line had to hide the fact that it was women and children first. Oh, and the guy from the white Star line, because that's offensive.
Who's first, the banks, the businesses, or you?
Who's first, the global economy, the global governance, the global mandates, or America?
We are the lifeboats, and they are swamping all of the lifeboats with what they're doing on the border.
He says that he's always, this was the latest. He always wants, he's always wanted to do something about the border and secure the border.
Well, what's stopping you, mister President?
Because I had it secure. We didn't have these problems.
And again, let me ask the average voter, Republican and Democrat, do you feel our country is safer today from terrorists or not?
Were you safer back in 2018 than you are now?
Are your cities safer?
It's not just a long series of ups and downs. These ups and downs are being caused by policies.
And Donald Trump should say, my policies, you've seen them in action.
You may not like me, but what policies did I enact? Act.
You say it's the supreme Court, and I would not get into any of this. But you say it's the supreme Court because these guys just judged what you can and can't do. No, California has more abortion now than it did before Roe versus Wade was overturned. New York, the same. Abortions are actually up.
So he's not taking your right away.
He's saying that nobody in black robes should decide what you as a state and a local community do.
Just like I'm saying, no one should decide in government what your business has to do.
Most important thing Donald Trump needs to do tomorrow night is make sure that he makes this about the voters of all sides, independents, Democrat, Republicans, he has an opportunity to really enlarge the tent, but he has to be compassionate and recognize, this time, the first one was about him.
This time it's about the struggles of the people.
If he can have the compassion, which I know he has, the guy is completely different in person. He is a good, compassionate man.
If he can come across with what I've seen in private with him, if he can not be mean, not snarky, but sad, sad for the country, sad for what people are going through and say, I'm not only going to protect and serve the constitution of the United States, I will protect and serve the people of the United States.
They are first.
I think there is a historic opportunity for him to shut this down and turn the tables over.
If he can appeal like Reagan used to, if he can appeal to those Democrats that are disenfranchised, those independents that are tired of all of this stuff.
He can expand his base a great deal.
And tomorrow, I think, is the, is the debate that's going to matter.
I mean, ending in a tie is not good enough.
And Jake Tapper and Joe Biden have enough of the same points of view that they can make it that forget those two even exist on the stage.
You know who you are, Donald Trump. You know who you serve, the american people.
You know what your policies are. Don't get into it with him. Don't. It's not worth it. It's not worth your time.
There's 24 fact checkers from the New York Times. Do you think they're really going to look at the facts? No.
So don't do it.
Speak on the things that you absolutely are rock solid on.
And that's not necessarily every policy. That's not necessarily, even though you are good at the policies. It is on the values and the principles of serving people and freeing people so they can chart their own course and build wealth. Again, just talk about the principles and I think you will win. Back in just a second.
All right. Let me tell you about our sponsor this half hour. It's good ranchers.
Good ranchers is there for not only our ranchers. It is so important what is happening.
The government is with this ear tag thing. I know you don't probably pay attention to this at all because most people think we get our meat from the grocery store in Styrofoam.
They come from farms, and a good portion of our meat is no longer coming from America because people like Bill Gates and the United States government are putting these small ranches out of business and they're tagging and making the farmers buy really expensive ear tags. We already can track where all the cows are from. We don't need the expensive RFID.
It's just another way to hurt the ranchers. Well, good ranchers is standing up with the good ranchers of America.
And they buy all of locally sourced from local ranches and they buy the meat. And then it's the meat, the chicken, the seafood, the brats, the sausages, whatever you want, you can get it american made. And support the ranchers, support the paralyzed veterans because every box that is sold, they also donate money to the paralyzed veterans as well. And you in the long run are going to save a lot of money because it's going to get more expensive to buy meat.
So get the best meat you can get. Get american meat. Do the thing that will support, especially for July 4, if you order one of their boxes. Now you'll get free brats for a year with your subscription. Make this Independence Day unforgettable with food that brings everybody together and flavors that honor the spirit of America. American Meat delivered goodranchers.com coming July 23, the first ever young adult fiction novel by number one best selling author Glenn Beck. But that's tomorrow at 730. Don't miss it. Blaze tv.com debate stu, you had a question for me? I can't remember what you asked me. Can you hold that over till the top of the hour about the debate? I thought you had a really good question.
B
Let's do it.
A
About the debate. We'll do that.
And also, Julian Assange.
Hmm.
My spider senses are tingling. Something's not quite right here. We'll go into that. Coming up, the Glenn Beck program.
I want to talk to you a little bit about the Berna launcher. The Berna launcher is really spectacular. It is an answer for anybody that maybe doesn't feel comfortable carrying a gun. This is something that's legal in all 50 states. I mean, if I were in New York City or Los Angeles or Gary, Indiana, really pretty much any place now in America, I would have a burner launcher. And I do have a burner launcher in my car. If I were in New York where you couldn't carry a gun, I'd have it in my, the back of my jacket because it's legal in all 50 states. You don't have to have a permit for it. No background checks, nothing. And it stops bad guys in their tracks. It launches kinetic rounds and then also tear gas rounds if you want, or pepper spray rounds up to 60ft away. It'll stop people for about 45 minutes. The Burna launcher. My wife has it. My kids all carry one. It's Berna. Byrna.com glenn. Berna.com glenn. For an exclusive 10% discount, get one now. That's berna.com glenn.
Welcome to the fusion of entertainment, entertainment, entertainment and enlightenment.
This is the Glenn Beck program.
Hello, America. Welcome to the Glenn Beck program. Well, Julian Assange is free after twelve years on the run. I happen to agree with Julian Assange in many, many aspects. I thought what he did was expose the dangerous truth about who we were becoming, but it was also a national security risk, et cetera, et cetera. So now the Biden administration and the DOJ just forgive him and he's free.
And all kinds of machinery went into work all across the globe to allow him now to just be free.
What, did he exchange anything for that? What was the cost of that freedom? While everybody is celebrating, something doesn't feel right. I want to talk to you about that in 60 seconds.
First, our sponsor. This half hour is american financing. Look, I want you to call if you are worried about losing your house, if you are worried now about your credit card debt and everything that is going on with your credit cards right now because the interest rate is so high, I want you to consider making your mortgage work for you, okay?
You've got to get out from underneath this debt and things are going to get worse. Now, you could still be planning for a long term and setting up your financial future and getting out of debt an easy way, and that is by calling american financing. Give american financing a call. Let one of their dedicated mortgage specialists help you examine all of the options so you don't have to walk around with all of this stress.
There are ways around it. You still have to pay for the debt and everything else, but you don't have to pay 30% interest on that debt. Your mortgage can be made to work for you. And the average person now that calls american financing is saving about ten to $12,000 a year.
That's quite a raise. Call american financing at 809 0624 080-090-6240 or go to americanfinancing.net dot nmls 18234 nmlsconsumeraccess.org dot apr for writs in the five starts at 6.799% for well qualified borrowers. Call 809 06240 for details about credit costs and terms.
So many people now today are celebrating Julian Assange's release of freedom after about twelve years on the run and time spent in prison. I'm one of those people that, I'm not giddy about it, but I actually fall now closer into Julian Assange's camp, because what he did release, some called him a free speech warrior. Some called him a dangerous activist that put our military and national security at risk because he hacked and then published millions of documents on wiki WikiLeaks.
So how did this happen? Well, he just pled guilty to espionage as part of a deal with the US Justice Department. Now, I don't know if you know this, but espionage can actually carry a death penalty, and espionage is a really big deal.
But the DOJ under Biden has just said, well, time served for what they've been saying is the largest espionage case in our country's history.
I just want an understanding. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with Julian Assange being, you know, freed and allowed to go, but really, I mean, that seems very magnanimous.
And it was the Biden DOJ. And Biden came out yesterday and wanted to make it very clear he had nothing to do with the deal. He doesn't know what's on his son's laptop. He's never been involved with his son's business.
He has no idea what the Justice Department is doing. They had no.
No information about the Mar Lago thing. They're not trying to cancel your, your gas stove. There's nothing further from the truth. And they had nothing to do with this deal with Julian Assange.
Now, I find that hard to believe. Only because you would think the president of the United States, you might want him to weigh in on this.
But maybe Joe is just completely out to space and out to lunch, and he doesn't. He can't string three words together. He's just a nice old man that doesn't understand.
Maybe, maybe.
But there was a deal made. We know that, and it was made in secret.
Now, this, according to the New York Times, a, quote, a secret hearing.
Don't like it already?
A secret hearing paved the way for his release.
In the end, the choreographed multinational dance that led to his release took place behind closed doors at a secret bail hearing in London last Thursday, according to british officials.
Now, the Aussies were involved in this, the British were involved in this, the Americans were involved.
And my spider senses are tingling a bit.
Now, this morning, early, we may have gotten maybe a tip or it was a mistake, an accident.
The X account and wokeness noticed something odd early, early this morning while you were asleep.
All 20,000 leaked DNC emails have just been removed from WikiLeaks.
Huh.
Now they say this is end wokeness, that this is part of the deal with Biden's DOJ and everything now makes sense.
Well, I don't know if that's true.
My team did verify that while other hack archives on WikiLeaks are still up, including Hillary Clinton's emails, when you click on the DNC archive, it does produce a server era or error. Okay, they're all gone. That's odd. But maybe it just is a server error.
Is this proof the DOJ coerced Assange to cover up their embarrassing secrets in exchange for misfreedom them?
No, today it's a server error.
Now, I've had server errors before and my company can fix them pretty quickly.
So is this just a server error that's going to be fixed and all of those will be returned?
We asked WikiLeaks to confirm if this was just a technical glitch or more evidence of a politically motivated and corrupt DOJ.
Will let you know if they come back to us with a response. But my gut says something very dirty happened here and we'll never actually know what happened in that secret meeting unless somebody from WikiLeaks gets their hands on some more documents.
Then maybe we will know.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to trust law enforcement officials to be in it for the law and not for themselves or for their cronies? Wouldn't it be nice?
I'd like that. I'd like that on both sides. I'd like that not to happen with the Republicans. I'd like that not to happen with the Democrats. But maybe, maybe that's too much to hope for.
But we'll find out, starting with the debate tomorrow night.
B
There are some, by the way, reports that some of those emails have been taken down, the DNC emails. So I don't know if that's part of this. I, you know, again, I'm not necessarily going to go to, I mean, I think if I go to WikiLeaks, I'll have federal agents at my door tomorrow. So I'm not, I'll let your other employees check that out for you.
A
But, yeah, they already have. They already have. They already down?
B
They are down now. Okay. I thought, you thought you said those were still up. My mistake, by the way, on the.
A
Debate, Hillary Clinton's Hillary were right.
B
That's what I was saying. There are reports now that those have been taken down. Oh, so that'll be, who knows that holds up.
A
We will see. Okay.
B
It's interesting question on the bait, though. You mentioned this and you know, a lot of the coverage has been a little weird of the WikiLeaks thing. And the WikiLeaks thing has really switched over the years, right. Like it was really conservatives at the beginning who were opposed to him, him. Liberals love the guy because Bush was president over time. That's really sort of changed right now. You know, Assange seems to be getting relatively positive press coverage. And as you've pointed out many, many times, you know, watch the other hand. What else is going on in these situations? You've trained us all to think this way.
And I was watching with the debate and I had a question because I'm doing a show on Studios America tonight on expectations for this debate and focusing on like, are Biden's expectations too low and all of these things. And one question keeps popping into my mind and I just don't have the right answer on it yet. I don't know. I don't know what it is. And I think you, maybe you do. Let me ask you this.
We're leading up to this debate, Trump is saying, has been, you know, everyone's been saying for a very long time, Trump has an advantage over Biden here. He's, he, you know, Biden is bumbling and incoherent and all these things. This is what the right has been saying. And there's been criticism as to whether you should try to lower expectations about that. But like, you can see that would be the obvious goal of Biden here, right? Like he wants to go into this debate looking like he, he's just, I don't know. I mean, who knows if he's going to be the, Donald Trump's a wrecking ball and I don't know if we'll be able to be a misses debate. You know, that's what you do before a debate. You lower your expectations, you raise the other person's expectations and hopefully you can outdo those expectations.
But there has been, Glenn, non stop coverage from the mainstream media on one specific thing leading up to this debate, which is how intensely Joe Biden has been preparing for it. Like he is a, he's got every aid around him. He's doing debate after debate after debate, intense policy preparation. He's doing all of this stuff and went and with Donald Trump it's like, oh, he's at a rally. He's not even doing any mock debates. He's barely. And he's doing some, you know, policy stuff, but that's about it. But with Biden, it's like raising expectations as if this man is going to be the sharpest man you've ever seen. This is the best that Joe Biden can possibly do because he's done all of this prep leading up to this debate. Why would the mainstream media be framing this in this way?
A
Well, I mean, I hate to go back to our bet, but I do think that this was planned this early to give an opportunity for him to succeed or fail disastrously and then having to replace him. I think there is a chance of that.
But there's also an equal chance, perhaps, that it's not some conspiracy or anything else. It is just doing the old playbook of, of the president is in, you know, really in touch with the facts, and he's working hard to make it look. I mean, he might be sipping Jell O right now. We don't know, but to make him look vigorous, he's doing all of this stuff at Camp David. He might be sleeping the whole time. I don't know.
But that's what you want to say. That's what they said about Jimmy Carter, that he was at Camp David preparing for his debates with Ronald Reagan and what happened.
This is why I gave the advice to Donald Trump that I just did a little while ago, and that is make it about the things that, you know, make it about our principles.
Don't make it about the facts and figures. Jimmy Carter came in, and he was a wonky guy, and he could remember the farm bill and all the details of the farm bill and this and that, where Reagan at first was being told by all the advisers, make sure you know this, you know this, you know this. And they said to Ronald Reagan, which should be said to Donald Trump, let Reagan be Reagan.
Let Trump be Trump. And it was Roger Ailes who said to him, look, look, you're Mister Reagan at the time.
You.
That's not why people like you. They don't come to you for, you know, all the facts and figures.
They come to you because of your vision and your ideals.
You maybe believe in five different things, but those five things will answer the farm bill. Bill. You believe in farmers and that farmers should be set free and they shouldn't have the government breathing down their neck. And if you get a foot off of the neck of our farmers, that they're going to be able to find a way because they're the hardest working Americans out there.
Talk about that if he brings up the farm bill.
So if it is the old strategy of Joe Biden having all the facts and figures to try to make Donald Trump look like he doesn't know what's going on, on. Donald Trump should stand on that.
Look, he's, he's making it all about numbers. Okay.
Here's the number you need to care about. Are you better off than you were when I was president? Are you better off right now? You're paying lower gas prices. Do you feel safer? How's, how's, how's your personal economy going? Do you feel more confident that next year is going to be good if he wins?
That's the only numbers I really care about because I work for you.
But let me tell you about the vision for America and what America first really means.
That is the home run, and it will make Biden look maybe competent but unrelatable. Nobody is going to sit there and listen to a guy who a, has his record.
And I don't think Trump needs to keep pointing it out other than how much is your gas right now.
Let's talk about green energy. You oppose the green energy bill and would you pull us out of the Paris accords? Yeah, in a heartbeat. Let me ask you, how much did you, the american viewer, how much did you pay for gas today, yesterday, the day before?
How much, how much do you believe that the future is going to be? Cars run on batteries.
Did you know we spent, I don't know how many billions of dollars to create a whole system of chargers all across the country.
We have six as of. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It was updated earlier last week. I forgot. We now have seven chargers for something that cost us billions of dollars and they won't be installed until 2030, if then.
Do you have confidence in the government or do you have confidence in yourself and your neighbors and your community?
That's what Donald Trump has to do. And unless they're setting Joe Biden up for a failure to replace him with God only knows who, maybe they're just playing the old game, but the people will see through it.
B
I think that that explanation makes sense at most times, right? They've been trying this thing where they say, well, yes, Joe Biden looks like a bumbling fool when you see him on camera, but when he's off camera, he's incredible. He's amazing. I don't know if he's just allergic to the camera or what, but when you can't see him, he's incredible. But that doesn't necessarily work as a preview to a debate. When you have an ending to it, it, so I, okay, hang on.
A
Let me get your opinion on it here in a sec. Let me just break for 60 seconds, and I want to get your opinion on it. When was the last time you cleaned out the gutters on your house?
Yeah, I know. I forgot I even had gutters.
It has gutters and you got to clean them out. Otherwise you're going to have a problem with your foundation. You're going to have a problem with rot and everything else. Here's a better solution than getting up on the ladder. Have your son do it. Okay? That's why I had, you know, that's why I have children.

B
I don't know that I have the right answer. I think there's something to the idea that perhaps the group of people inside the Democratic Party who are looking for a potential replacement are leaking this to the media, say, trying to build expectations that he's very, very prepared, and if it goes poorly, they have that ripcord.
A
Yeah, that makes sense.
B
Kind of makes sense to me. But I don't know that that's right. I just, you know, the whole part of me also thinks the reason they scheduled this early, this debate this early, is just because of the amount of time that will go by for people to forget. Get it? I mean, we're going to be, we're going to have this debate tomorrow, and then in a week beyond July 4, you know, break. And there's plenty of stuff.
A
There's only one reason to do the debates this early a and they're all the same.
A let give people enough time to forget about it if it's bad, if it's really, really bad, give us time to replace him. All of these things that you don't do a debate before a convention. The other reason is, well, because we don't know if he's bad now. Can you imagine what he's going to be like in six months? Okay. And that's a real possibility as well. But they're all, none of those things are good. You can't come up with a good reason why he wanted to debate now instead of in the fall.
So I think you have to put some eggs in the basket of, yeah, there are people that want to replace him, and this may be the opportunity.
Stand up.
Glenn Beck.
There is really something frustrating about knowing that you need to get a good, solid night's sleep and yet you're completely unable to do it. A
Tonight I'm going to explain the economy. Explain not just the economy, what, what's happening to our country. The fundamental transformation.
You know, our, our whole economic system is now based on massive debt. But neither the Republicans or Democrats seem to care to do anything about it. All the experts say that the new target for inflation, the target should be 3%. That means you lose $0.03 on every dollar.
You know, every single year. That adds up pretty quickly. You've already lost $0.24 on every dollar that you had in 2020 if you still have that dollar. Food, gas, energy becoming scarce because we're being priced out and they're making things more scarce. In the middle of all this, nobody is really even talking about actually fixing our border in immigration. We're selling farmland, and even public lands are being sold to foreign countries.
It is a theft of a nation.
The middle class is now on life support. So why is all this happening happening? Why?
And can it all be tied together? And what do you need to know so you're not a victim tonight, Wednesday night special, 09:00 p.m. on Blaze tv. And then tomorrow on my YouTube, YouTube channel, american elites have built a caste system for you.
That's tonight blaze tv, 09:00 p.m. all right, you know, the debate is happening tomorrow, and all Donald Trump has to do is just quickly don't dwell on them.
The failures just continue. I mean, war, I had the Middle east all sewed up. He's got it into war that his solution is to build a big Gaza float, a big floaty out there, and it doesn't work. It's a disaster.
I mean, because everything this guy has touched is a disaster.
B
I actually think the Gaza pier is a perfect microcosm of his entire presidency and every one of his policies.
A
Yeah, like, I agree.
B
The pier is so fascinating because it hits every little aspect of one of these Biden proposals and how it works out. It starts with these sort of supposed good intentions, the good warm feelings, right? Like, he's going to save these people. He's going to bring in. It's not the evil Jews.
He's instead going to go help these people. He's going to, he cares so much about the Gazans that he's going to build a pier and he's going to get them all this aid. And it's not enough. Of course the Jews should do more. But still, it's incredibly impressive what he's trying to do. And then, then you get the gushingly positive media coverage, right? Like, not only the caring reasons and all these incredible, the heart of Joe Biden, but also the sort of innovative and novel approach.
Look at this approach. He came up with a peer this is incredible.
A
And really doing what our military is meant to do, and that is just to serve the people and feed them.
B
Yes.
A
Help to help. Not to kill. Not to kill, but to help, help.
B
Now, every one of these proposals that follows this, this timeline also includes some legalistic rule bending, right? Because of course, in reality, you know, you can't actually just give away all this money for student loans, for example. Right? You have to come up with some. Well, there was a bill that Bush passed for military citizens back in 2005, or, and we're just going to use that and expand it to 1000 times its size. Like, there's always some legalized rule betting here, right? It's, they promised and promised and promised and promised. No boots on the ground. Over and over. We are not going to put any boots on the ground. We're not going to do. That's a red line. There's no way we're going to do that. So what we're going to do is put boats on a pier 50ft from the ground.
That's.
We sweat. They're floating. The feet in, the boots are floating. So we're totally.
A
Just don't even need boots. You should dip your toes in the water. We recommend that you don't even have boots.
B
That's the next one.
A
Have boots.
B
These soldiers are in sneakers. What are you talking about? We've all given them. We've given them sneakers to go on the soil. Like, again, they're always trying to come up with some crazy justification for these things and it's always some legalistic thing that doesn't actually make sense. Everyone knows is false. But, like, we're all just accepting this with the peer, right? Oh, you're not going to get involved. You're not going to put our soldiers on the ground there. Okay? But they can just sit, you know, 10ft offshore and while they're touching equipment, the people on the ground are also touching equipment. The same piece of equipment as it rolls out. We're touching one side, they're touching the other, but that doesn't count as boots on the ground. Uh, to this particular administration.
Then, of course, Glenn, you get it. Massively expensive and way over budget. $230 million that we know of just to build the pier. That obviously was never going to solve the problem anyway. That's a whole nother aspect.
A
Now, it could have, but they didn't calculate for waves, right.
B
Which is something you should calculate for when not building something on an ocean.
A
No, not. It's not an ocean. It's the Mediterranean Sea. And that's very different. And they. They expected it to be smooth as glass. And the navy, you know, this is a naval project. They know this is completely unexpected.
B
Yeah. And of course, he'll blame them as well. But, you know, massively expensive, massively over budget, costing way too much for what it even could theoretically do. But then you get to the next step, which, of course, is. It's immediately shown to doing. To be doing much less good than was ever promised. Right. Immediately, the first estimate of how much aid got to the Gazans was literally zero.
No aid had gotten to the Gazans. They were. When they did get ships off of this pier, they were being intercepted by gun toting terrorists on the way. So.
A
No. Were they Gazans? Were they Gazans? Were they Gazans?
B
I mean, if they're terrorists, they must be Jews. No, I mean, I think that's how this government at this point is operating.
A
Okay. Yeah, you can make a good point.
B
It's the Jamal Bowman thesis. But, I mean, at some level, it is pretty impressive that they continue to do this and, like, you know, the failures are massive. Amazing. They were supposed to get 2 million meals a day off of this pier. Now, at no point was that ever moderately realistic. It was never going to happen at any time. However, they have not even come close to doing 2 million meals on any day.
At no point did they come close to me.
A
250 meals.
B
I would not. I mean, again, the initial. In congressional testimony, the initial estimate was zero. Now they're now counting meals just getting off the pier. That's their new metric. Oh, it's just. Well, we got these meals off the pier. We handed them to them. Who knows what happens after that? That's their new measure of success.
A
That was. But wait, that was the whole reason to build the pier. So you knew who it was going to, right? It wouldn't fall in the hands of the terrorists.
B
And, of course, they do know who it's going to. And shockingly enough, a lot of times it is terrorists. And there's not always the Venn diagram of the Palestinians and the terrorists. There's a bit of an overlap. I don't know if anyone's noticed this.
A
Huh?
B
Yeah, but not full. So maybe we're targeting, I don't know, the very small percentage of people who weren't cheering on October 7. But those people are not the ones getting the food. So it's not working at all. Then we get to the next step here, which is the pier is literally crumbling into pieces in front of our eyes. It's breaking apart. It is a catastrophe. They didn't plan for waves, as you pointed out, Glenn. They are saying now the entire pier feels like it is a bunch of metal legos that are pieced together and constantly smashing into each other as the waves come in.
A
Do you at any point in this scenario think of, and I don't know why it's unreasonable to do it, but feel like we've become the old Soviet Union.
B
Gosh, it does feel that that's exactly. This is exactly this type of crap that they did right. They'd have these big, high minded initiatives. They would fail miserably and no one would ever be held accountable for the failure. I mean, I bring this up again to you, my friend Glenn, and I know you hate, despise this point, but I'm going to say it again.
$230 million every April 15, you will pay taxes for your entire life and not make enough money and pay enough money into this government to pay for one of the metal legos on this freaking Gaza pier. You, all your efforts for your entire life will not cover one of these metal legos they're putting together in Gaza so they can give money, or at least a valuable aid to terrorists.
Like, this is how incomprehensible this crap is and why it should never, ever happen.
And then we are just getting to this point now because they've already had to shut down the peers for 18 full days where nothing happened and no one could go on it because it was so unstable. They've now shut it down for 18 days in various days whenever the weather gets bad. They're bragging about that, by the way. We can see the weather coming, so we can shut down the pier whenever needed. Oh, great.
A
Wow.
B
Now they're finally acknowledging that this is not going to work, that this is going to be a failure. We're going to have to take it down. And there will never be any accountability for the failure. And they will just. The media will pick it up and say the problem was just that method.
We need to find another way to do the same thing. And these Republicans are opposing that. So all this whole story leads to the evil conservatives are the bad guys.
A
You know what's really weird is I think we. Because there was a big war. Now, I'm just telling you a fantasy story here. There was a big war a long, long time ago in Europe, and it destroyed almost everything. Okay? And there was a place in this little hamlet of a country named Germany that the Americans couldn't go, but the people were starving to death. But if we cross that line, we would then probably start another war with our allies. And so we, we couldn't, we couldn't cross over and put any boots on the ground and we promised we wouldn't put any boots on the ground.
And there were a lot of really bad guys, terrorists and everything else that were there on the ground. And so we devised this plan. Now, this is going to sound all old timey, but we devised a way to just drop food from the sky.
B
What?
A
Yeah. And then, you know, sometimes the bad guys, Germans, Russians, whatever, sometimes they got it. But most of the time, because it was such an overwhelming supply, it got to the right people and we saved all those people from starving. Now, we can't do that, of course, because, well, I don't think I need to go into all of the details on why we couldn't do that again, but we can't.
It's so much better to put ships off the, just off the coast where they have terrorist boats and build something that absolutely had no chance of working from the beginning, spending a lot of money and not helping the starving people. Yeah, it's so much better. So much better.
B
We should point out that the people they were trying to help are firing missiles at the pier. That's a whole other aspect of this. But that's part of the.
A
Yeah, we didn't do that. We didn't do that back in this storytime war. We did. We didn't. All right, back in just a second. 1st let me tell you about our sponsor. This half hour, it is tunnel to Towers Foundation. I want you to meet an american hero. Is US Army Major Jonathan Turnbull. During a tour of duty, Major Turnbull was severely injured during an attack from an ISIS suicide bomber. Left eye completely lost. His right was punctured after more than 20 surgeries and countless hours of painful rehabilitation. Thank God he's still alive and well. But his life was completely changed. That's where the tunnel to Towers foundation paid off his mortgage, gave him a specially adapted smart home designed specifically for his needs. Now he can move around his home more easily. Now, peace of mind that he is, that he, he should have and all of our veterans should have after they come back and defending our country at such a high cost, lost. But we have, you know, veterans that are homeless. We don't give them hotels in New York. No, we give illegals, but we won't give our veterans a hotel in New York. Can't do that for some reason.
That's why tunnel to towers is here. Because the government never does the right thing in my opinion. Donate $11 a month to tunnel to towers at t two t.org. leave the work up to the people who actually care and can make a difference. Tunnel to towers t to t.org. would you help our veterans in so many different ways and help America never forget the cost of freedom? It's $11 a month I'd like to ask you for, but if you can do just, you know, one month, that would be fine as well. Ninety five cents of every dollar goes directly to these programs. It's tthenumber two t.org. dot the previous content identified as a rant. You're welcome, or we're sorry, the Glenn Beck program.
We'll be right back.
So coming up on Saturday, this Saturday, wherever you get your podcasts, go to my feed and look for episode number four of the Beck story. It is my new Backstory history podcast series.
This season we are doing, I think, eight episodes and it all is about the experts. How did we get here? How do we, how are we listening to these experts who are constantly steering us wrong and yet they don't have any accountability and we just put up with it? How did that happen?
So episode number four takes a deep dive into the american education.
We knew as founders, we knew that the success of the Republic depended on having an educated, engaged citizen.
But they couldn't have imagined how the us education system would morph into something that de emphasized reading, writing and arithmetic and biblical values to the progressive dominated system today that's hyper focused on identity politics and radical left wing agendas. And it's crazy. How did we get here?
Well, we start with the early progressives, the early 1900 college professor named John Dewey.
The first season of the Beck story, progressivism, how it developed a cult of expertise and how this obsession continues to drive the left wing quest for control.
All of these episodes get to the root of what's really happening in America and how to fix it. Don't miss episodes one, two and three of the Beck story, available now. Episode four this Saturday, wherever you get your podcasts, the Glenn Beck program.
